My Design
Planning My Design
The key things I considered when planning my design were: The structure needed to be light but strong. The distance between the arms needed to be equal for the anemometer to be effective. Finally I needed to reduce friction as much as possible. Materials
I am going to use: 3 plastic cups 3 metal arms A metal rod Clay and pot Protractor A nail Permanent marker Nuts and bolts Wheel Washers Building my design 1. Screw the three metal arms onto the wheel at intervals of 120 degrees and attach smaller metal arms for added support. 2. Mark one of the three cups with a marker. 3. Screw the cups to the ends of the metal arms all facing the same direction. 5. Connect the metal rod to the wheel with a nail; placing washers in between to lessen the amount of friction. 6.Place your metal rod into the clay inside the pot to act as a stand. |
